Since it doesn't appear I'll be painting the living room as I thought I might this weekend, maybe I'll start on the nasty task I've been avoiding: cleaning the quilting studio.
It looks like a mini-metaphor of my recent life. It's become a dumping ground for unfinished business, a clutter of left over detritus to the point it's actually difficult to find room to sew. Now that I'm getting my life back on track, it's time to get my quilting studio in order, too.
I need to clear the space so I can finish quilting some beautiful projects that are half-done. I've put them off because they are intended to be quilts for me to keep, no deadlines. Therefore, all the quilts I've actually finished in the last two years or so have gone away as gifts and I have nothing to show for myself.
Ironic.
The other realization is with the hectic travel schedule I have looming on the near horizon, I don't want to waste what precious time I find cleaning instead of quilting.
Step one: get off the computer.
Bye for now.
