That is the question.
The Christmas cards have been rolling in with their requisite newsy missives. It is nice to get caught up with folks that you don't get to see often even though the Christmas newsletter has become a cultural joke of sorts. I have to admit in the past, I have not been much on writing them myself.
I know, huh. Hard to believe.
Mostly I think its either procrastination or because it is just one more thing to do in an otherwise too busy season. The longer I put it off, the less likely it becomes. Eventually it just isn't going to make it in time for Christmas.
I suppose a person could get away with a New Year's Newsletter but who the hell sends Valentine Day Newsletters or St Patrick Day Newsletters? The evils of procrastination. Might as well just wait another year. Right?
Besides, this year there isn't much good news to write about. Except for those in our closest circle, most of the people with which we've become acquainted during our marriage are not aware of our changed circumstances, not that I've been intentionally keeping a low profile. (Okay, maybe I have.) I don't really want to depress everyone, nor do I want their sympathy. Don't need it, don't want it.
Perhaps it will be enough just to sign our names with one notable exception. Those curious enough may call to find out.
That seems like a good plan, now that I think of it.
Alas, poor Urich. No newsletter for you.
